Hatha (Mind body)
Hatha yoga emphasizes postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. It aims to balance active and calming energies within the body. Hatha is considered a practice of self-transformation, using postures and breathing to focus the mind and body. It is a slower, more meditative practice where poses are held for longer periods. This pace makes it perfect for beginners who are new to yoga.
Yin yoga
Yin yoga is a slow-paced practice that emphasizes long-held, passive poses to target deep connective tissues. It is rooted in ancient Eastern philosophies and Taoist principles, aiming to balance the body, mind, and emotions. This style of yoga contrasts with more active "yang" styles, promoting stillness and cooling the body. Yin yoga is practiced primarily on the floor, using seated and reclined poses, and often incorporates props for support.
Restorative yoga
Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing practice that uses props like bolsters and blankets to support the body in gentle, passive poses held for extended periods (5-10+ minutes) to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, improve sleep, and promote mental and physical healing, focusing on stillness and comfort rather than exertion. It's ideal for beginners and anyone needing deep rest, activating the body's "rest and digest" response for profound relaxation.
Sound bath
A sound bath is an immersive relaxation experience where you lie down and listen to therapeutic sounds from instruments like crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes, designed to calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote deep relaxation by bathing you in resonant vibrations, often aiding in releasing tension and promoting overall well-being. This form of sound healing or meditation improves emotional and spiritual well-being by helping the body's energy and brainwaves shift to calmer states.
Chair yoga
Chair yoga is a modified form of yoga that is practiced while seated or using a chair for support, making it more accessible to individuals with mobility limitations. This gentle practice allows participants to perform various poses, focusing on breath, mindfulness, and movement. Chair yoga can help improve strength and maintain muscle mass, while also increasing flexibility
Kids yoga
Kids yoga is a practice that introduces children to physical poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness. It is designed to be playful and engaging, often incorporating stories and games. Yoga for children can start as early as 3 years old and is beneficial for both physical and mental well-being. It can be adapted for various age groups, with classes for school-aged children focusing on improving balance, strength, and endurance
Teen yoga
Teen yoga is a holistic practice that helps adolescents manage stress, improve physical fitness, and enhance emotional well-being during a complex developmental stage. It incorporates physical postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to foster self-awareness, resilience, and a positive self-image. Studies show that regular practice can alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve focus, and promote better sleep quality.
Prenatal yoga
Prenatal yoga is a specialized practice for pregnant women, blending gentle stretches, focused breathing (pranayama), and meditation to ease physical discomfort, reduce stress, improve posture, and prepare the body and mind for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery by modifying traditional poses for a growing belly and increasing pelvic floor strength. It builds strength and flexibility for childbirth, offers community, and provides coping tools like deep breathing for labor.
